December 14 - December 19 We are going to be finishing the last portion of Chapter 5 (Persian / Peloponnesian War) that enables us, after vacations, to move into Hellenistic thought. Furthermore, there will be some further evaluations! A World Literature Course designed to prepare students for college level reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing and thinking. A hands on course in which students collaborate on the high school newspaper, "What's the Scene?!" and produce the school-wide literary magazine, Awaaz. A college level World Literature course which focuses on the close reading and critical analysis of challenging works of literature from a wide range of genres, cultures and time periods. This course meets the needs of students who are ready to work on a relatively advanced level to further develop the skills of writing, reading, understanding, and listening. This course enables students to write for different purposes which include reports, diaries, letters, narratives, dialogues, summaries, explanations and presentations.
This course reinforces Urdu skills at an advanced level. The course covers a wide range of topics of classical literature through excerpts of novels, short stories, and classical to modern poetry. Different trends in Urdu literature and understanding of plot, conflicts, characterization, and terms applied by writers of various eras are discussed.
